Founded in 2013 by Louis Martin-Vézian, CIGeography specializes in the production of maps, charts, and infographics focused on defense and security topics. Our work has been featured in numerous prestigious publications worldwide, including the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR), CSIS, CNA corporation, The China Project, USNI News, Foreign Policy, Stratfor, RAeS Aerospace, Vox, Slate, Mediapart, Le Nouvel Observateur, and Die Presse.

Our mission is to provide precise and insightful visual data that enhances understanding and decision-making in defense and security matters. Notable projects include the comprehensive mapping of maritime security zones and detailed visual analyses of military infrastructure developments.

  • Co-Founder and CEO of CIGeography, Louis brings over a decade of experience in cartography, data visualization, and open-source research. With an academic background spanning Singapore, Italy, and the United States, he holds a Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BSc in Economics & Politics from the University of London.

    Louis has worked at the Project 2049 Institute and the Fondation pour la Recherche Strategique. His expertise has been instrumental in shaping CIGeography's reputation for accuracy and innovation.

    Louis is based in Washington, DC.

  • Co-Founder of CIGeography, Felix Spiekerkoetter brings extensive experience in international relations and policy analysis. With an academic background spanning Belgium and Germany, he holds a Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bayreuth.

    Felix has worked at Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research, focusing on the National Research Data Infrastructure, and at Germany's Permanent Mission to the OSCE.

    Felix is based in Washington, DC.

  • A writer and defense analyst, Zach focuses on U.S. diplomatic and military developments in the Pacific and U.S. military modernization efforts. With a background in international relations and defense studies, Zach's analyses provide critical insights into the evolving dynamics of military power in the Pacific region. His work supports strategic planning and policy-making in both governmental and non-governmental sectors.

    Zach is based in Helsinki.

  • Natalie brings a diverse background in communications, consulting, and international affairs. With an academic journey spanning United States, Italy, and Spain, she holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs (MAIA) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor's degree in Government and Global Studies, with a minor in Anthropology, from Colby College.

    Natalie brings half a decade of U.S. government experience, including work at the Pentagon and most recently at USAID. Her roles have encompassed research, strategy development, and communications across defense and international development sectors.

    Natalie is based in Washington, DC.
